Urban setting for stunning city wedding
I absolutely love photographing at Great John Street Hotel, it’s so stylish and quirky! The wedding day of Hannah and Ian was an absolute joy, and as you can tell from the photos, they had a ball! This really was a memorable occasion, for all the right reasons.
Hannah and her Mum and bridesmaid stayed over in one of the stunning school house bedrooms, and that’s where I met them on the morning of the big celebration. I was buzzing about the hotel all morning capturing the groom, Ian and guests arriving and going up to the rooftop terrace to check out the ceremony room and all the special details. There is a laid-back feel to the hotel, but they also pay attention to everything so that the day runs smoothly from start to finish.
Once Hannah had made a rather nervous trip up the school stairs she was ready for her grand entrance, the nerves soon disappeared once she saw husband to be Ian and everyone relaxed. After the formal ceremony was over it was time to capture some joyful family moments where guests came and congratulated the couple and went to relax in the stylish seating area on the terrace.
We got some group shots at this time with the stunning views across Manchester as a backdrop. After a few minutes laughing and chatting with the guests we nipped across the road to the park for a little time for the newlyweds to have a romantic walk and take in what had just happened! It was obvious that these two are made for each other and they were a delight to document for those few special moments. We actually had a great laugh, as you can see they didn’t stop laughing all day!
After this lovely interlude it was straight onto the wedding breakfast and they decided to do the speeches first so that they could enjoy the fabulous food. The bride’s Uncle and groom’s Dad had lovely things to say and had the room in stitches. It was a very intimate family day with everyone feeling very much a part of the celebration, Hannah’s auntie even made the cake.
Once the evening guests came it was time to really let their hair down and I got some great natural moments of guests having a great time!
