Cosy lodge winter wedding in the woods
Chevin Country Park Lodge is a magical place for a Yorkshire wedding. Surrounded by woodland, it’s the perfect hide-away for a winter wedding celebration. The grounds are perfect for photos with a lake, secluded woodland and romantic walkways.
The wedding celebrations
I arrived early to find the girls relaxing and having fun getting ready in one of the Alpine-style lodges in the woods. These are great for wedding parties and the Prosecco was helping with the nerves! Courtney, the bride was pretty calm, but as the time of the ceremony was getting closer, it all became a bit more real, and the bridesmaids got a bit emotional when she put her dress on. The wedding coordinator was on hand to help with any last minute questions, and Danny, the groom was there waiting for her in the larger of the two ceremony rooms.
Courtney met her Dad outside and they and the bridesmaids made their entrance. The girls looked amazing in their matching bespoke gowns from Wolf and Wake, in Leeds.
Straight after the ceremony we went out onto the decked area for drinks and photographs. Then we had a quick trip up to “Secret View” to get some photos of the amazing panoramic landscape views. This only took a few minutes, but it was definitely worth it to let the newlyweds get a few minutes to themselves and to get a different perspective for the pictures.
Emotional speeches and party time!
It was time for the wedding breakfast when we returned and it was straight into the speeches from the father-of-the-bride, groom and best man. They all did an amazing job and could relax and enjoy their food once the nerves had gone. After the meal, we nipped to capture some dusk and sunset images, where I got to incorporate some of my lighting equipment for dramatic effect!
Congratulations Courtney and Danny, it was an amazing day!
