Family photos in the woods
It is so lovely when one of my couples from a wedding comes back to me in a year or so with their new family member for photography updates. This time we had a new son and new dog to have fun with! Megan and Michael got married at Durker Roods Hotel a couple for years ago and when little Percy came along they got back in touch to get some special family photos for the Grandparents for Christmas and for themselves and their growing family.
The winter setting the woods was great for Percy to have a wander around and explore for himself, so it wasn’t a demanding photo session for him, he was just playing and doing his usual thing with Ted the dog. I try to keep it laid back and fun for the children and I don’t mention the photos or the camera at all, as kids are not remotely interested in that, they just want to be exploring!
Megan and Michael decided on Judy Woods in Halifax – Bradford area to do the pictures as it’s a favourite place of theirs with lots of memories so it does mean something to them and in the years to come. It was a great circular walk with extensive views through the trees and perfect for photos with fallen trees and lots of leaves to kick!
We had an amble through the woods, and brought snacks and a drink for little Percy to keep him happy. The whole thing took less than an hour, with the adults and the dog having had a relaxed and fun time, whilst creating lots of lovely images of this special time together.
I hope the Grandparents were happy to see the pics on Christmas Day and they have pride of place in their homes. Looking forward to the next update! Lovely to see you all again.
