Dog Ring Bearer “Wolfie” completely stole the show!
When Callum and Sophie first got in touch with me about their Holdsworth House wedding in Halifax, it sounded like a fabulously low-key intimate affair. They were planning the most relaxed outdoor summer wedding with all their friends, and family and even Wolfie the dog ring bearer. Callum and Sophie are the loveliest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!
Bridal prep
I turned up at Holdsworth House, where the bride and her friends were getting ready, and it was really chilled, everyone knew each other and even the makeup artist was a friend, who just happened to be excellent!
The Holdsworth House Courtyard ceremony
The wedding took place outside in the courtyard, and was a romantic intimate ceremony. They had personal vows they had written themselves, which brought pretty much everyone to tears. When it was time, Wolfie, the dog ring bearer, was called forward. Unfortunately, well, amusingly, he thought the day was all about him and went for a little wander through the guests on his way to the front.
After the ceremony there was a big cheer from everyone, and then everyone headed out to the front of the house and the beautiful gardens for some photos and canapes.
The afternoon
The wedding reception took place in the large room at the back of the house, which was decorated in a vintage style for their afternoon tea style wedding breakfast.
During the reception they had the speeches, which everyone loved. They certainly knew how to make it personal and the groom and his twin brother had everyone in tears, thank goodness I had a camera in front of my face!
