Kim and Dan got married at Holmfirth Vineyard, which is at the top of a mountain in Huddersfield with vast and epic views. It was such a fun wedding and even the weather played ball!
The ceremony
The ceremony was a beautiful service in the ceremony room with epic views across the valley. During the ceremony they had several beautiful readings from friends and family. It was a beautiful way of involving everyone in the ceremony.
They decorated the area with flowers, which I loved. The reception was in the orangery at Holmfirth Vineyard – I love this venue because the light is gorgeous for portraits and candids. Weddings at Holmfirth Vineyard are amazing, because the surroundings are completely stunning.
Why Holmfirth Vineyard is a great place to get married
Holmfirth Vineyard is such a romantic setting with dramatic views and a really magical feel, and is one of the coolest places to get married in Holmfirth. The venue offers an amazing atmosphere for a wedding – and there are loads of amazing places that are perfect for photos.
The reception
During the afternoon there was a live singer, and a live band in the evening. The speeches were very personal, and hilarious. I really learned some things about the couple, that maybe they wished had been kept a secret! ;). For dinner they had a roast dinner, and the first dance was to their favourite song. They finished off the evening with the live band getting everyone on the dance floor, and I mean everyone! It was great fun, I got stuck in as usual!
Wedding Gown
Kim wore a traditional white gown and Dan wore a navy suit and they looked really perfect.
The couple got in touch with me years ago, and their enquiry was so personal. They said they wanted a photographer who would be like a guest, and I loved that they love dogs as much as me. We have a mutual love of Border Collies (don’t tell my Cockerpoo!) and so we hit it off straight away!
Advice for planning your wedding at Holmfirth Vineyard
The landscape around the venue is stunning, but do be prepared to drive or walk up a very large hill to get there. It’s definitely worth it though when you’re there! It really is like nowhere else I’ve been, and we’re so lucky to have it right on our doorstep!
