It’s always lovely to capture family photos with children playing and having fun. Indoor, studio, on location, in the park, at home these are all great places for family portraits. As a Huddersfield and Saddleworth family photographer I have photographed in most of the parks, extensive country walks and back gardens!
I know there never seems to be the right time to get those family pics. You might be;
- super busy dropping off at swimming, football, horse-riding, dancing, karate and there never seems to be a moment free.
- waiting to lose weight/ get your hair done/ find matching outfits
- worried that your children won’t behave or pose
I’m here to tell you, there’s never a better time than now. Let’s face it, you’ll never be younger, the kids are growing up way too fast, and the best thing is your kids don’t need to behave! I want to tell the story of your family as it is, not the perfect instagram version that to be honest, none of us live up to!
I want children to be children, and have fun, jump, run and pull silly faces. Don’t think you’re wasting my time if your kids aren’t interested in standing for a photo. I know they’re not remotely interested in you getting a nice pic for Grandma, but from past experience I’ve found that everyone likes to see the child’s personality in the family photos. I’m often surprised that families choose the photo of a child being thoughtful or even grumpy, as it’s just captured them!
