THE FLEECE COUNTRYSIDE INN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY – SARAH AND DANNY

If you’re planning a wedding at the Fleece Inn, Barkisland, You’ll love this wedding for inspiration!

When Sarah and Danny first got in touch with me about their The Fleece Countryside Inn wedding in Barkisland, Halifax, I was so excited – they were planning such a fun and laid back wedding with a church ceremony, a live singer and even stop off in the countryside. Sarah and Danny are the loveliest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!

Bridal prep

I began the morning at Sarah’s Grandma’s house, where the bride and her friends were getting ready together, and it was really exciting, because all the girls were there. Sarah wore spectacular dress from Lulu Brown’s and the bridesmaids wore blush pink long floaty dresses and they looked so incredible. They had an amazing classic car driving Sarah and her Dad to the ceremony at St Patrick’s Church in Huddersfield.

The ceremony

The wedding took place at St Patrick’s RC church in the centre of Huddersfield, and was a traditional religious ceremony. They had some beautiful readings, which brought pretty much everyone to tears. After the ceremony they were showered with confetti, and then we went and did some beautiful portraits. We stopped off briefly on the way to the Fleece for a few photos with the rolling hill as a backdrop in a picturesque lane near Barkisland.

The reception

The wedding reception took place at the stylish countryside pub that is The Fleece, which was adorned with blossom trees on the tables, miniature gin bottles, and rustic table settings. It was gorgeous.

It was a beautifully sunny day, which was what the couple had hoped for. While the guests enjoyed canapes and cocktails, the couple mingled and laughed with their friends.

During the reception they decided to have the speeches before the meal, which was great fun. It really was emotional. I sometimes find out lots about the history of their families at this point, and it’s lovely to hear the speakers getting up and thanking their families for giving them a fabulous upbringing. There were some funny stories about the groom and his brothers growing up. They also had live music, which kept everyone entertained. I even had a dance!
