Katherine and Josh got married at Emley Church, which is just up the road from the Three Acres, where the girls got ready in the morning in Huddersfield with countryside views. It was as usual a little windy up on the tops, but that just made it fun and the sun even made an appearance!
The ceremony
The ceremony was a church service in a beautiful church. During the ceremony the kids had a lovely time eating snacks, to keep them happy, whilst the couple exchanged vows. It was so personal.
They decorated the area with forest decor, which I loved. The reception was in a private room at The Three Acres – I love this venue because the food is incredible. Weddings at The Three Acres are amazing, because the building is completely stunning.
The Three Acres is perfect for intimate weddings, and is one of the best places to get married in Huddersfield. The venue offers an onsite hotel so guests don’t have to travel home – and there are so many lovely views which are perfect for photos.
The afternoon
The couple had a drinks reception in the afternoon, and an intimate family dinner in the evening.

Katherine wore a traditional white gown and Josh wore a three-piece suit and they looked really perfect.
The couple got in touch with me this year, and their enquiry sounded like they had a fun day planned. They said they wanted a relaxed photographer, and I loved that they just wanted to party and eat cake. Most of my couples just want me to take natural photos without directing them, or making them feel like it’s a photo shoot.
