Craig and Sam chose the Woodman Inn for their brilliant military winter wedding, and they couldn’t have had a more perfect day. Their guests had come from all over the country to the quaint Yorkshire village of Thunderbridge (excellent name) and the picture perfect venue.
Sam got ready in one of the attached cottages at The Woodman with her best friends, daughter and bridesmaids. I spent the morning nipping from the girls to the boys, who were relaxing meeting guests and eating bacon sandwiches! The lads looked amazing in their uniforms complete with swords. Sam could have worn a uniform, as she’s in the army too, but she opted for a beautiful Roland Joyce dress.
This was the first time I’ve done an official “first look” which the couple did outside by the river. It worked out really well, and Craig may have had a tear in his eye when he saw Sam as a bride for the first time.
The intimate ceremony room looked fabulous with a winter theme and sparkly backdrop.
As the couple had exclusive use of the venue and their newly refurbished gardens we got lots of pics of the guests in the grounds including some with smoke bombs! Straight before the wedding breakfast we popped up to the nearby woodland to get some romantic pics just of the newlyweds using my fancy lighting techniques, with a little help from the best man!
Later on, we had fun with the first dance and the little girls who were desperate to show off their moves on the dance floor! Everyone got up and really let their hair down. Just before the evening for was served everyone nipped out into the gardens for some sparkler photos, and we may have rocked out another smoke bomb or two too!
Another memorable day at the exquisite Woodman Inn. https://www.woodman-inn.com
