What to expect at a Manor House, Lindley Huddersfield. Documentary wedding photography

Manor House Lindley is an exclusive, award-winning hotel on the outskirts of Huddersfield. It’s achieved and maintained a reputation for high-end weddings in a unique and opulent setting.

I’ve put together a guide on what to expect if you’re thinking of getting married at Manor House, Lindley. Here I’ll show you the different options available and a few examples of how flexible the space is and how accommodating the wedding coordinators are.

You can have your wedding, however you want it, and I have captured these photos in a documentary style to show you how the day can run.

How a wedding day at Manor House works

Weddings at the boutique hotel venue of Manor House in Huddersfield are just so personal, with effortless glamour and grandeur.

I really can’t fault anything that the staff provide or the elegance of the building itself.

I’d say 90% of the weddings I’ve photographed at Manor House start with one or both of the couple getting ready in the bridal suite. This is two main bedrooms which are adjoined by a lounge, which is a great place to relax and a can act as a little greeting room for guests. Both rooms have beautiful four-poster beds and huge picture windows looking out to the front and side of the house.

The main bedroom is a really impressive room, as is it’s neighbour across the private landing. So you can have your bridesmaids, children or family right next door on the morning of the wedding.

Choose a ceremony room that suits you

Many couples opt for the Coach House for their ceremony room. It’s very versatile, and the panelled walls can be pushed back to reveal a huge room if needed. I have photographed one wedding which took place in the lounge area of the bridal suite, so I think there are options if you didn’t want a large room.

Wherever you choose, you can be assured that it will make for an impressive backdrop for the photos as ever inch of the venue has been considered and designed with elegance at the forefront.

Making a grand entrance.

You can get ready at home and arrive in style if you’d rather.

Arrive ready for the ceremony in a fancy car if you’d prefer to sweep up the drive and make a grand entrance.

The staff at Manor House are happy to go with whatever you’d prefer to do in regards to a church ceremony or getting ready at home. They will make your arrival at the venue extra special with a welcoming party and refreshments.

The walk to the ceremony

This is often the most nerve-racking part of the day for couples, and so having helpful and relaxed people with you at this point really helps ease the nerves!

Different styles of ceremony

Depending on the size of your guest list, you may want to opt for the larger or smaller room arrangement, both of these are shown below, and are equally beautiful and impressive!

As the Manor House only hold one wedding on your chosen day, you have the place to yourselves.

Straight into mingling and photo time after the ceremony

The natural photos are the best, and guests at weddings are usually in great moods. People will make their own fun, but a little nudge is also a good idea,  a magician or ice cream van goes down very well!

Couple photos

Now then, we’ve all been to weddings where the couple disappear for ages just when you want to congratulate them, and you end up eating all the canapes and drinking all the fizz, whilst wondering what you’d come for!

That doesn’t happen at my weddings. As much as I know the couple photos are important, and I want the newlyweds to get some lovely shots. It really doesn’t have to take ages, I’d say 10-15 minutes tops. Just a wander, the two lovebirds having a chat and a bit of fun, then back to the guests for more mingling and spending time with those special people who are on the guest list!

There’s no cringe-factor, just you two having a few moments away. No gazing into each other’s eyes or standing on a rock so I can get photos for my portfolio. Just natural photos of the two of you being happy and looking fabulous!

The Wedding Breakfast

Speeches

Everyone’s favourite part of the day, unless you’re one of the “lucky” ones that have to get up and say a few words.

The evening do

Everyone has relaxed, they’ve eaten well and have sampled a couple of glasses of something cold, now it’s time to party!
