THE HUNTSMAN INN CHRISTMAS WEDDING – NATALIE AND BARNEY

Marsden St Bartholomews Church wedding

When Natalie and Barney first got in touch with me about their Church wedding in Marsden with reception at The Huntsman Inn, I was so happy – they were planning the most romantic family wedding with a church ceremony, an owl ring bearer and even a brass band in church. Natalie and Barney are the loveliest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!

Getting ready

I turned up at the couples’ house, where the bride and her family were getting ready together, and it was really lovely, because all the girls were there, and I’ve known most of them since they were babies. Natalie wore a ivory gown and the bridesmaids wore ivory and red dresses and they looked so gorgeous. Cartwrights Cars drove the girls to the church in their vintage cream Rolls Royce.

The ceremony

The wedding took place at St. Bartholomews Church in Marsden, and was a traditional religious ceremony. They had some beautiful readings, which brought pretty much everyone to tears. They had a owl bring the rings down the aisle too, which took everyone by surprise. After the ceremony there was a big cheer from everyone, and then the couple danced back down the aisle together. It was a bit cold, so we did a few family group shots inside the church by the alter.

Couple photos

Natalie really wanted some photos outside by The Packhorse Bridge, because her parents were married at the same church and had their photo taken on the same bridge. Whilst we were having some fun there, we had a phone call from the venue saying not to rush as they had fire engines there!

It turned out to be a small thing, but when we arrived at The Huntsman, the fire fights and fire engines were still there. So, not to waste an opportunity we grabbed them for some photos once the drama had been taken care of!

The Huntsman Inn reception

The wedding reception took place at The Huntsman Inn, which they’d decorated with lots of Christmas colours and festive decorations. It was gorgeous.

It was a bright and sunny day, which was still cold, but made for some lovely outdoor photos at The Huntsman Inn. While the guests ate canapes, I did some family photos. My favourite photo from our portrait session is the two of them with the stormy sky and Natalie’s epic dress blowing in the wind.

During the reception they had a live band, which went down a storm. They played a great mix of funk and soul classics and some more up to date tunes too, they were brilliant!

After the wedding breakfast they had some wonderful speeches, then the band kicked off the party and the couple hit the dancefloor. Barney serenaded his new wife with her favourite John Legend song, and we were all in tears!
