Wedding at East Riddlesden Hall
Well, this day was two years in the making for Steph and Fran, who had planned everything meticulously and really put some serious hours in to make it the most perfect wedding they could imagine.
Getting ready
The day started with the girls getting ready separately in different rooms at a nearby hotel. They did a great job of hiding from one another, with only the hand holding around the door to comfort themselves that the other one was actually there!
I was ably assisted by Mya from Silvery Moon Photography who took lovely shots of Fran getting ready with her Mum and bridesmaids, whilst I got shots of Steph and her mum and bridesmaids. They had really gone to town and everyone there received presents (even us!) and the doggies even had their outfits hung on personal hangers!
From here the brides left separately, Fran in a vintage wedding car, and Steph in a VW “herbie” car, complete with stripes! On arrival at East Riddlesden Hall they met outside as planned and walked in with their mums and bridesmaids. It was a really special moment as they walked into the ceremony, there wasn’t a dry eye in the barn! Straight after the ceremony everyone went outside and prepared to cover the newlyweds in confetti, which they did very well. Straight from there it was onto the dove release and then the dogs were brought out for some photos. They seemed to love all the attention, and gave us their best tail wags.
Then it was onto drinks on the lawn on the other side of the lake and into the secret gardens. There are just so many places to take photos at East Riddlesden Hall, you really are split for choice. An English cottage garden and manicured lawns are great places for the kids to let off a bit of steam too. We brought over the giant balloons and got some fun shots with the bridesmaids and then just the Fran and Steph managed to sneak away for a few moments to have a chat about the day and I got some casual shots of them just being themselves and celebrating the events of the day.
There were a few more surprises in store for both of them as when everyone was seated back in the barn, Fran got up and did a dance routine with her bridesmaids and some other friends, which they had been practicing in secret. Steph had no idea that this was going on, and was most impressed with her new bride!
After a lovely meal, there were a couple more speeches and the cutting of that amazing cake. Steph had put together a slideshow of all their best moments which was played during the first dance, and had everyone in tears. Such a special day with two special ladies who are definitely made for each other.
