If you’re planning a wedding at Farm DIY wedding at home in Denby Dale, you’ll love this wedding for inspiration!
Frances and Harrison got married at the local church in Denby Dale, which is just around the corner from the family farm in Denby Dale with countryside views. It was such a fun wedding and even the rain didn’t dampen the day!
The ceremony
The ceremony was a beautiful service in their local church. During the ceremony they had several beautiful readings from friends and family. It was such a personal service.
They decorated the area with wildflowers, which were lovely. The reception was in the barn at the farm where Frances grew up – I love this venue because they totally made it their own, the week before it literally had cows and calves in it. Weddings at home are amazing, because it’s just so personal and relaxed.
The afternoon
The couple had a live singer in the afternoon, and he continued into the night, keeping everyone on the dance floor in the evening. For dinner they had a roast dinner, and the first dance involved the wedding party getting on the dance floor to get the dancing going. They finished off the evening with everyone at the wedding getting up for a big singalong.
The couple
Frances wore a traditional white gown and Harrison wore a three-piece suit and they looked really dapper.
The couple got in touch with me last year, and their enquiry sounded brilliant, as the farm, dogs, and cows were mentioned. They said they wanted a relaxed photographer, and I loved that they wanted special photos with Kitty, Frances’s favourite cow. Most of my couples just want me to take natural photos without directing them, or making them feel like it’s a photo shoot, we just go for a walk and have a laugh.
