THEATRE WEDDING IN HUDDERSFIELD AT THE PICTUREDROME – SIMON AND AMANDA

WONDERFUL DAY FOR THIS URBAN THEATRE WEDDING

When Simon and Amanda first got in touch with me about their Picturedrome wedding in Holmfirth, I was so excited – they were planning the most relaxed theatre wedding with a church ceremony, a live band and even a family singalong. Simon and Amanda seemed like the nicest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!

Spiritualist Church

I started shooting at Huddersfield Spiritualist Church, where the couple and their friends were relaxing before the big event, and it was so chilled out, because. Simon wore a blue suit and Amanda wore a beautiful tea-length dress with long sleeves and they looked so chilled and perfect together.

The ceremony

The wedding took place at The Spiritualist Church, and was a traditional church ceremony. Simon’s Grandad led the ceremony, and it was so lovely to see both the bride and groom accompanied by their parents being walked down the aisle. It was a very personal ceremony and they even had a song from The Rocky Horror Show, Damn it Janet, playing after the had exchanged their vows.

The afternoon

The wedding reception took place The Picturedrome, Holmfirth, which is a theatre in the centre of the small town, famous for Last of The Summer Wine. It was really unique.

It was a slightly rainy day, which didn’t bother them at all. While the guests enjoyed canapes and cocktails, I did some family photos. My favourite photo from our wander around the city is them walking down the urban back streets of HUddersfield, whilst laughing their socks off having just tied the knot.

During the reception they had live music, which was great fun. Firstly the sisters of the bride and groom did speeches and then they got up and sang along with the parents and grandparents! It was beautiful and I had a tear in my eye at the point, but not for long because the next people up were the friends of the groom. They performed (some quite reluctantly) the single ladies dance by Beyonce! It really was a sight to behold! For the meal a hot buffet from El Kantina, a mobile catering company, and it was absolutely delicious. After the meal local band Sass and The Groove came on and everyone boogied into the night!
