Rustic venue with breathtaking views

Knipe Hall is a fabulous barn wedding venue, set in a very quiet rural location in the picturesque Loather Valley, Cumbria. Abi and Mark are from my home village of Marsden in West Yorkshire but they chose local suppliers to travel up with them for their amazing wedding. If you’re looking for a real period farmhouse and with your own party barn wedding, then look no further! We had a spectacular day, and one I won’t be forgetting anytime soon!

The bridal prep…

In the morning the girls were getting ready for the big day in the farmhouse bedrooms, with the main focus being relaxing and getting pampered, whilst also dressing and feeding several toddlers and babies! The girls managed it, and as the guests started to arrive, Abi the bride was as cool as a cucumber!

The bride and groom sourced most things themselves, from the fairy lights backdrop to the table setting and seating plan. The guest were able to sit out in the sunshine on the patio with a few drinkies before the start of the ceremony.

Here comes the bride….

I followed the girls down the spiral staircase from the cottages to the barn where the wedding ceremony was to take place. The nerves may have been kicking in slightly now but as the girls entered they looked fabulous in their Grecian styled gowns and Abi in her bespoke and elegant non-traditional dress. The barn is a great backdrop for the photos, with the exposed beams and rustic stone walls, it really had a quirky and romantic feel to it. It was actually quiet emotional!

After the ceremony the newlyweds came straight outside into the gardens to really start the celebrations and speak to all their guests. There were kids games and even a kite to play with, and people took full advantage as they had the place to themselves, with no neighbours to disturb, well maybe the odd rabbit!

We did get some lovely informal family group photographs in the gardens showing the views in the background, it was such a relaxed atmosphere we nearly forgot to go in for the amazing food!

At night-time the party really got started and we managed to capture some of the kids enjoying themselves in the best way children know how, by dancing like crazy and racing around the barn in every expanding circles! The dancing carried on with the new Mr and Mrs taking to the dance floor and showing everyone how it is done!

Congratulations to you both, it was a super-amazing celebration.
