STANDEDGE TUNNEL VISITORS CENTRE WEDDING – EMMA AND SEB
Canalside wedding with barge and brass band
When Emma and Seb first got in touch with me about their Standedge Tunnel wedding in Marsden, I was so thrilled – they were planning the most fun summer wedding with a live band, lawn games and even a canal barge to escort the bride. Emma and Seb are the loveliest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!
Bridal prep
I began the morning at Crabtree Barn, where the bride and her friends were relaxing before the big event, and it was really chilled, because everyone was in a relaxed mood.
The Standedge Tunnel ceremony
The wedding took place on the top floor of the visitors centre, and was a romantic and emotional ceremony. They had a live singer, who just happened to be Seb’s dad too, so it was even more poignant. After the ceremony they walked down the aisle together and were showered with colourful confetti, and then the celebrations began. The brass band started up and everyone went outside in the baking heat for drinks and dancing.
The afternoon
The wedding reception took place in the middle floor room, which was decorated by the couple in a rustic and romantic way. Standedge Tunnel Visitors centre is a Heritage building with lots of history, and perfect place for a wedding. Set over three floors the warehouse is a brilliant blank canvas that Emma and Seb personalized for their special day.
It was a tremendously hot day day, which was what the couple had hoped for. While the guests enjoyed the live music, the couple mingled and laughed with their friends. My favourite photo from the afternoon is the one of Emma and her Grandma enjoying a hug by the canal.
During the reception they had catering by RachAls, and they had chosen someone to be the head of the table, to wear a chef’s hat and apron, which went down a storm. For dinner they had a roast dinner, and it was loved by all the guests. After dinner they had some wonderful speeches, then the band kicked off the party and everyone hit the dancefloor. They also had stonebaked pizza from a campervan outside, which was a huge hit.
Here’s their sunny Standedge Tunnel wedding!
