Sian and John got married at the beautiful the truly grand Wortley Hall, Sheffield. It was a wonderful Wortley Hall wedding, with a summer wedding with a romantic feel, and a harpist to keep guests entertained.
The ceremony
The ceremony took place in the boardroom, and was filled with the couples’ nearest and dearest, which was lovely. The ceremony included a beautiful reading. It was a romantic occasion, full of excited hand squeezes. The couple are really into cycling and go out most days when they’re not working. They incorporated into their special day by having a few biking elements around the venue.
After the ceremony, guests mingled in the garden, which was the perfect time for me to get candid photos, and I got some lovely photos of the couple. The weather at this Wortley Hall wedding was so sunny, it was on the hottest weekend of the year, so we took care to get plenty to drink (not that kind!) and spent quite a bit of time indoors in the shade.
The reception was held in the beautiful banqueting suite. The venue is perfect for weddings because it’s so cosy and relaxed, and it’s got such a romantic vibe, especially in the grand hall where the dinner was held.
For the reception, the couple had organised delicious canapes for their guests, and everyone really enjoyed it. Guests were then called for the wedding breakfast, which was a roast dinner.
After the meal was finished, they cut the cake, and the party got started. The DJ kept everyone entertained all evening.
Advice for planning your wedding
at Wortley Hall is to make the most of the gardens and venture into the picturesque woods as a lovely backdrop for photos.
