Spring wedding at Casa Brighouse

Casa Brighouse certainly is an impressive venue. Helen and Dan had a perfect day in April for their spectacular wedding on the banks of Cromwell Lake in Brighouse which is such a picturesque backdrop for photos.

When Helen and Dan first got in touch with me about their Casa, wedding in Brighouse, I was so pleased because – they were planning a romantic and stylish wedding with a church ceremony, cocktail bar and even singing waiters. Helen and Dan are the nicest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!

Getting ready

I began the morning at the hotel, where the bride and her friends were getting ready, and it was so chilled out, because all the girls were there. Helen wore a gorgeous Stella York gown and Dan wore a grey suit with blue waistcoat and they looked so perfect. They travelled to the church in a cream Viscount, and it looked amazing cruising along with Helen and her Dad inside.

The ceremony

The wedding took place St. Mary’s in Mirfield, and was a romantic religious ceremony. They had personal vows they wrote themselves, which was so unique. After the ceremony we did confetti outside the church door, and then we had time to take a few group shots outside the church, before we set off to the venue at Casa.

The reception

The wedding reception took place at Casa, Brighouse, which was decorated so beautifully by Gingerlily. It was stunning.

It was a sunny, cloudless day, which was lovely. While the guests bounced on the bouncy castle, we wandered around the venue doing fun and creative portraits. My favourite photo from our couples session is the one of them having a good old laugh in the woodland near the hotel.

During the reception they had singing waiters and a guitarist, which was a massive surprise, and went down a storm. The guests really got involved with the waiters, and joined in with their silly games and songs.
